Introduction to fourth photography

My name is William Henry Wilson IV, and I like taking pictures – pictures of people; pictures of cities; pictures of nature; pictures that convey how awesome God is, since this isn’t really about me.
Now that the introduction is over, the first thing that I want to do on this blog is define it.  The purpose of something is much easier understood if that thing has an associated definition.  So the definition is as follows:

This blog will serve as the main location where I will attempt to share my constantly developing/evolving knowledge about photography, hopefully to your benefit.  In addition to that, I plan on posting sets of pictures from each adventure that I have involving my camera – whether that be to a nearby lake, to a sporting event, or even a wedding (as I did this past weekend).  I will take mental notes during those “adventures” and attempt to summarize the beneficial points in the blog post before and after the pictures.  If any readers of this blog (hopefully the numbers increase over time) have any questions regarding photography, please email me at bill@fourthphotography.com.  I will be happy to answer your questions in a blog post – no question is out of the question.

The second thing that I want to do on this blog is to introduce my equipment.  I shoot Nikon.  If that bothers you, I hope that you can take a deep breath and continue reading.  Keep in mind that the only reason that I shoot Nikon instead of Canon is because the first DSLR that I got was a Nikon D50 – for free (thanks to Daniel Bajusz).  After that, I was kind of locked in – now I love them.  Ergo, the brushes that I use to paint light onto a canvas of pixels are as follows:

Bodies:
Nikon D50 (seen in the above picture)
Nikon D300 w/ MB-D10 Multi Power Battery Pack

Lenses:
Nikon 12-24mm f/4 AF-S DX (seen in the above picture)
Tamron AF 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di LD
Nikon AF-S 35mm f/1.8G
Nikon 18-55mm AF-S DX f/3.5-5.6G ED (pretty much replaced by the Tamron)
Nikon 55-200mm VR AF-S f/4-5.6G ED (autofocus meter is broken – not sure the best course of action)
Vivitar 55mm f/2.8 (old metal lens from the 70s or 80s)
Lensbaby

Flash:
Nikon Speedlight SB-600
Lightsphere diffuser
Sto-Fen diffuser
Stroboframe Flash Bracket

Maybe my next post will summarize stuff that I learned at the beginning – stuff that I don’t even think about anymore but is reflected in almost all of my photography.  Maybe it will be about the wedding at which I just took pictures.  Maybe it will be about my dislike of bad grammar.  Suggestions?
