Fortress of Solitude

Whenever a human element is included in an image, it creates an additional connection that allows the viewer to experience that scene in a more personal manner. I couldn’t have planned this image any better – it makes me wonder why the lone man was seated on that bench. What was he thinking about? Where had he come from? Where did he go? Does he visit that bench often? Is he always alone?

Whatever his story, I’m glad he was included in this photo.

Venice

If we said it once, we said it a hundred times… Venice felt like a theme park. A city built for tourists. A section of Disneyworld that ended up on an island in Italy. But it’s not. It’s a city with hundreds of years of history including a place as the preeminent European merchant & naval power in the 15th century. A city that once was a world power is now a charming Italian island – our first stop on our Mediterranean vacation. Hopefully these images portray some of that charm and character that made Venice memorable for us.
