All Together Now | Kovacs Family

It’s that time of the year again – stories of angels, shepherds, and a newborn baby, carols, hot chocolate, the smell of pine trees, sparkling lights, presents, and cards in the mail. But what does everyone need to be able to create a good looking Christmas card?  Family pictures, of course!  Especially if they’ve welcomed a new addition into the family since they sent last year’s Christmas card.  Thankfully, I had the opportunity to do two family sessions this holiday season, the first of which was for the Kovacs family.  Their baby girl, Campbell, was born on November 23 – still only about a week old when we took these photos.  So small!  I met Zoli through work, and it has been a real pleasure to get to know him and his family better over the last few years.  A beautiful family and a beautiful private park right near their home make my job really easy!  The opportunity to capture memories, specific moments in time, for friends and family is definitely my favorite thing about photography.

The Coys | Maternity

My wife and I had the privilege to spend time with the Coys this weekend and take some pictures of the THREE of them.  Heather is due in about 5 weeks!  We’re so excited for them and can’t wait to meet the little one – they won’t find out if it’s a boy or a girl until birth.  Chris and Heather’s love for each other and for the baby is very evident, and we know they will be great parents.  Thanks to Heather’s parents for letting us use their beautiful home for this photo shoot – our first maternity session!  Hopefully the baby likes burnt orange (Hook ‘Em)!

Emerson Leigh | 8.16.2012

Our good friends Trent and Amanda asked if we would be willing to do a newborn photography shoot for their beautiful daughter Emerson. We happily obliged – not only is it a joy to take pictures of wonderful, new life, Katie and I really enjoy spending time with the Thompsons and their older daugher, Kinley.  Also, I was really eager to try out my new lens.  It was my first time working with an infant, so I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect.  But Amanda was super helpful – she even sent me some picture ideas beforehand and links to a few other blogs with beneficial pointers for baby photography).  It took Emerson a little while to calm down, but once she fell back to sleep, the shoot was a breeze.  Emerson is 16 days old today – we hope you enjoy her photos.  Click on any of them to enlarge and feel free to leave comments!
