Ryan and Julie’s Engagement Photos

How fun are these pictures?

Ryan and Julie are two fun people, so it only makes sense that we’d visit a lot of cool places and have a great time while shooting their engagement pictures.  It was awesome to get to know Ryan and Julie better, and I got to see a lot of Austin that I hadn’t seen before.  It would have been hard to recommend places to go for good “Austin-esque” pictures since I’m so new to town, but Julie knew all the spots.  This was definitely an Austin-inspired photo shoot.  She had a lot more good ideas too, but there was just no way we could fit them all into one afternoon.  You can see more photos in my Facebook album here – Ryan & Julie.  Congrats to both of you!

Ryan & Julie (Sneak Peek)

The plan was to post another Chicago picture, complete the “Chicago Beauty” series, and then move on to a sneak peek of the engagement photo shoot I had this past weekend with my friends Ryan and Julie.  But after looking through the pictures last night, I couldn’t help myself.  I edited a several of my favorites and decided that I JUST HAD TO POST two of them.

Ryan, Julie, and I spent this past Sunday afternoon visiting several locations around Austin to take their engagement photos.  Both of the below images were taken on S. Congress Ave, which is one of the more “unique” areas of the city.  The whole afternoon was a blast – I hope they enjoyed their time as much as I did.  Keep an eye out for more pictures in the future.  Congratulations, Ryan & Julie!

Paul & Anne Scharnett [8.7.10]

I posted a preview of these pictures back in September, but since it was my first wedding as the official photographer, I thought a full post of my favorite shots (Flickr set) was necessary.  As I said in my last post, it was a great blessing to be able to capture these memories for Paul and Anne.  I hope you all enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them.  If you do, share this on Twitter or Facebook (there’s a “Share Bar” at the bottom of the post) and let more celebrate with the Scharnetts!  Congratulations, Paul and Anne Scharnett! (With regards to lenses, I used mainly a Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 (standard) and a Nikon 12-24mm f/4 (wide angle). I also rented a Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 (zoom) from Calumet Photo for the weekend and had a 35mm f/1.8 (prime). Those covered all the bases. Also, i shot with my Nikon D300 and my D50 bodies, in case you were wondering.)
