Get used to seeing Malorie and Jonathan on the blog! We had a whirlwind photography “relationship” with these two. Six weeks from their wedding, we did this awesome engagement shoot in balmy downtown Austin, then we did a bridal session with Malorie a few weeks before their wedding, and we just had a blast shooting their wedding this past weekend (several of these engagement photos were prominently featured at the wedding, which is always cool to see). Photos from the bridal session and wedding are upcoming – like I said, get used to seeing these two smiling faces. We’re so glad we got to be Jonathan and Malorie’s photographers, and we think these engagement photos turned out great. Sorry it’s taken me so long to get them up – I’ve had a little backlog to get caught up on. Anyway, enjoy the love and laughter of this cute couple below.
Hello everyone! Katie here, I’m taking over the blog for a special post! Bill and I recently had the privilege to capture one of my best friend’s wedding days. For some background on why this post is special to me, Chelsea and I met when we were both going into our freshman year at The University of Illinois. We lived at the Stratford House and had the pleasure to room together for two of our four years of college. Chelsea and I quickly became best friends and she even stood by me as a bridesmaid on my wedding day in 2011. I love Chelsea and I am thankful for her friendship over the past 6 1/2 years! It has also been my pleasure to get to know Keith and watch their relationship grow. Keith is an awesome man of God and his love for Chelsea is so evident.
Chelsea and Keith married on a beautiful March day in Champaign, Illinois. The weather can be so unpredictable, however they were blessed with warm temperatures and sunny skies! Their love for each other was evident throughout their wedding day. Their ceremony was beautiful and also demonstrated their love for God. I could not hold back my tears as I captured my friend walking down the aisle to marry her best friend. We hope you enjoy this sneak peek of their wedding day!
While visiting my family & Katie’s family in Illinois this holiday week, we were able to carve out some time to spend with friends. My best friend, Mike, and his fiancee, Brittany, already had tickets to the Friday afternoon Cubs game, so we decided to join them, but not before a detour through the South Pond area of Lincoln Park Zoo to take some engagement pictures! I have always wanted to take engagement or wedding pictures at this location because of the really cool architecture and the combination of the outdoor/natural feel with the awesome views of the Chicago skyline. (The Hancock Building, left, and the Sears Tower, faint right, are both shown in second picture below, which I love.) And it works out perfect when you also get to hang out with really good friends who recently got engaged! Anyway, we spent about an hour and half taking pictures before finally catching a cab up to Wrigley Field, buying some pizza, scalping two tickets for me and Katie, and then watching the Cubs lose to the Pirates (sigh). It was a lot of fun, and nothing beats Chicago in the summer (Chicago in the fall is pretty close, though). These few images below were just the first few to catch my eye as I was reviewing them in Lightroom – expect more to come in the near future! Congrats to Mike & Brittany! Can’t wait for the wedding in September!
