Jimmy & Vanessa | 6.22.2013
This past weekend, we had the privilege to see two people that we’ve known for a few years finally tie the knot! Not only that, but we got to take pictures of it too! I’ve known Jimmy and Vanessa for what seems like the entire time that I’ve lived in Texas and gotten to know each of their families too. The great part: now they’re one big family! It’s been awesome to see what God’s done in each of their lives and how He brought them together. After doing Jimmy & Vanessa’s engagement photos back in May, we had been looking forward to their wedding day, and it was beautiful. Katie and I were really excited to be the photographers, and we’re also really excited how the pictures turned out. Usually, I just do a small “sneak preview” with only a few images, but there were so many good ones, I just had to post a bunch! Add a comment if you’d like, and let me know what YOU think! Stella Marie | 5.26.2013
What a sleepy bundle of joy! Stella Marie was born on May 26 to one of my coworkers (at my real job), and we had the awesome opportunity to hang out with their family and take pictures of their newest little girl. She fell asleep right near the beginning of the session and thankfully stayed asleep throughout a few different poses. Good lighting and a sleepy baby always makes for a good newborn session! Just add a few pink accessories, and there you have it! Stella is a beautiful little girl – the previews of these pictures on my camera during the photo shoot brought her grandmother to tears. Hopefully you enjoy them too!
Pure Joy
I’ve been looking through my old photography to find some of my older pictures that may have gotten overlooked and never posted. During the summer of 2008 in the lone photography class I’ve taken, I was given an assignment to capture an image that expressed the emotion of “joy.” I didn’t really know where to start at first, but soon realized that our golden retriever, Rusty, was the perfect depiction of joy when you gave him tennis balls. I’m glad I didn’t end up with slobber on my lens – even though it looks like he’s just staring at them, this picture was taken in between bites and gnawing and constant attacks on the tennis balls. Most tennis balls we gave him didn’t last more than a week or two, but he loved every second of tearing them apart and chasing them down when we would throw them across the yard. Rusty died last year after almost 10 years with our family. He brought us lots of joy, but probably not as much pure joy as those tennis balls brought him. This is still one of my favorite pictures that I’ve ever taken – I hope you enjoy it too!
